My name is Emily and I’m a constituent from North Canton, OH. I am a leader in my church community, a small business owner, and mother of two. I’m very concerned about Haitians in our community who have been residing and working lawfully, but who are at risk of losing their Temporary Protected Status and being deported to an extremely dangerous situation in Haiti. I’d like you to support SB 4814 and encourage your leadership to bring it to the floor for a vote. This bipartisan, House-passed legislation would ensure the Department of Homeland Security renews TPS for Haitians while the crisis there persists. As a Christian who believes that all people are made in God’s image with inherent dignity, I do not want my Haitian neighbors to be sent back to a dangerous situation.
