Hold the EPA Accountable to Its Environmental Protection Mission

To: Gov. Cox, Sen. Curtis, Rep. Owens, Pres. Trump, Sen. Harper, Rep. Dunnigan, Sen. Lee

From: A verified voter in West Jordan, UT

August 29

The EPA exists for one reason: to protect human health and the environment. Right now, it is failing at that mission, and I need you to act. Whether through budget cuts, regulatory rollbacks, or enforcement failures, the agency has abandoned the communities and ecosystems it was created to defend. That is unacceptable, and Congress has both the authority and the obligation to intervene. I'm asking you to use your oversight role to hold the EPA accountable. That means demanding answers about which regulations have been weakened, which enforcement actions have been dropped, and who is bearing the cost of that negligence. The people paying the price are real — families drinking contaminated water, communities breathing polluted air, ecosystems that cannot advocate for themselves. The EPA's mandate is not optional, and neither is your responsibility to enforce it.
