Climate change is real and it’s the most urgent threat facing our planet today.
As your constituent, I am deeply concerned about the climate catastrophes that continue across the country and the world, from devastating glacial collapse to extreme heat to wildfires that wipe out our communities. Climate disaster is already at our doorstep and it will permanently damage our Earth if we let it go unchecked.
The passage of the Inflation Reduction Act was a significant, necessary step in the right direction to protect our climate. But I firmly believe that this is only the beginning.
More must be done to ensure the needs of frontline communities, working families, and a livable future for generations to come. Young people, and especially young people of color, will be hit hardest by the impacts of climate change.
I urge you to do all in your power to invest in climate action that will prioritize clean energy, green jobs, climate-resilient affordable housing, and environmental justice. Protect the environment and public lands we have now and protect threatened and endangered species.
