Oppose Leaked US-Russia Peace Plan for Ukraine

I am writing to express my deep concern over the recently leaked US-Russia peace plan for Ukraine. This proposal, if implemented, would be a severe blow to Ukraine's sovereignty and a dangerous capitulation to Russian aggression.
The plan's key points are deeply troubling. It suggests handing over parts of Ukraine's Donbas region to Russia's de facto control, effectively rewarding Russia's illegal invasion. Furthermore, it proposes reducing Ukraine's armed forces to 600,000 personnel, leaving the country vulnerable to future aggression.
Perhaps most alarmingly, the plan calls for Ukraine to enshrine in its constitution a commitment not to join NATO. This infringes on Ukraine's right to determine its own alliances and security arrangements. The proposal to recognize Crimea, Luhansk, and Donetsk as de facto Russian territory is a clear violation of international law and Ukraine's territorial integrity.
While the plan includes some potentially positive elements, such as using frozen Russian assets for Ukraine's reconstruction, these do not outweigh its fundamental flaws. The overall structure appears to heavily favor Russian interests at the expense of Ukraine's sovereignty and security.
I urge you to publicly oppose this plan and any similar proposals that compromise Ukraine's territorial integrity or right to self-determination. Instead, please advocate for continued support of Ukraine's defense efforts and push for a peace plan that truly respects Ukraine's sovereignty and international law.
The reported "aggressive timeline" for Ukraine to agree to this plan is particularly concerning. Rushing such a consequential decision could lead to long-term instability in the region. We must stand firm in our support for Ukraine and not bow to pressure for a quick, but unjust, resolution.
Your voice is crucial in shaping U.S. foreign policy. Please use your position to ensure that any peace negotiations prioritize Ukraine's sovereignty, territorial integrity, and long-term security. The stability of Europe and the credibility of international law depend on it.
