Every human life is sacred, and every act that leads to the unnecessary loss of a life—regardless of religion, nationality, or ethnicity—is an unbearable detriment to our collective humanity. Neither race nor borders should be used as a reason to incite violence, harm, or oppression against innocents. Therefore, it weighs heavily on my heart to address a matter of such urgency and importance concerning the United States' active role in funding and arming Israel's actions against Palestinian civilians.
This funding and weaponry have enabled a relentless pattern of aggression and devastation that disproportionately affects Palestinian men, women, and children. Every single dollar funneled and every single weapon shipped is another investment into the machinery of oppression that so unjustly afflicts the Palestinian people. This is not a call to arms against Israel, but rather a fervent appeal for the cessation of funding and provision of arms that have been and continue to be used in acts of violence, repression, and destruction.
The very essence of human rights demands that we all unite in our plea for peace, justice, and empathy. Effective immediately, I kindly urge a suspension of all military aid to Israel and a dedicated commitment to a diplomatic solution for peace. This call is not anti-Israel; rather it is pro-humanity, pro-justice, and pro-peace. The heartrending suffering and the desperate cries coming from Palestine are a poignant reminder to all of us that the cost of inaction is too high.
