Today I again take pen in hand to write to urge you to support congressional subpoenas for individuals believed to possess critical information about Jeffrey Epstein and his network.
Over 31,000 Americans have signed a petition directed at Congress demanding this action, reflecting just the tip of the iceberg of widespread public demand for transparency and accountability in this case.
Recently released Department of Justice documents from 2019 reveal that Michael Cohen's attorney offered information about Epstein to secure a reduced sentence for Cohen's campaign finance conviction.
This disclosure demonstrates that key witnesses possess relevant information that has never been properly investigated. Congress must subpoena Michael Cohen, Michael Wolff, Elon Musk, Howard Lutnick, and Steve Bannon amongst other named in the files, as well as former Asst. Attorney General Alex Acosta, in order to compel testimony about what they know regarding Epstein's activities and associates.
The Epstein case involves highly credible allegations of systematic abuse spanning decades. Survivors of sexual assault have waited years for justice while potential witnesses remain unquestioned. One retired physician who treated an Epstein victim has described organized abuse operations that extended beyond Epstein's known properties.
These accounts - by hundreds of women - demand thorough congressional investigation with the full weight of subpoena power.
Justice cannot be selectively based on wealth or political connections. While some powerful figures have reportedly defied congressional authority in this matter, Congress has both the constitutional power and moral obligation to compel testimony from those with knowledge of these crimes.
The individuals named so far are not beyond the reach of congressional subpoena, and their testimony could provide crucial information for ongoing investigations and potential prosecutions.
I ask that you publicly support issuing congressional subpoenas for these individuals and advocate within your caucus for immediate action on this matter.
Victims deserve answers, and the American people deserve to know the full truth about Epstein's network and anyone who enabled or covered up his crimes.
Your constituents are NOT happy how Congress has responded to this demand for accountability.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
