I am writing as your constituent with six days remaining until the February 13 DHS funding deadline. Defund ICE. Abolish this agency. Vote NO on any package that includes ICE funding. Negotiations have collapsed. Republicans are refusing even the most basic accountability measures—no judicial warrants, no unmasking requirements, no meaningful oversight. They have made clear that ICE will continue to operate as an unaccountable agency that not only disregards our constitutional rights, but disappears people from tracking systems, violates court orders, and kills American citizens. This proves what we already know: ICE cannot be reformed. Democrats have proposed a solution: split the DHS bill. Fund the Transportation Security Administration, Federal Emergency Management Agency, Coast Guard, Secret Service, and Cybersecurity separately. Exclude ICE and Customs and Border Protection from any funding package. This is the correct approach. Fund the agencies Americans need. Defund the agencies killing Americans. To Senators Murray and Cantwell: You have led on this issue. You stripped DHS from the January package and forced these negotiations. Now finish what you started. Support splitting the bill. Vote NO on any package that funds ICE, period. To Representative Gluesenkamp Perez: You were one of only seven Democrats to vote YES on DHS funding despite your own leadership's opposition. Your vote gave Republicans permission to continue negotiations in bad faith. Six days remain to correct this mistake. Vote NO on February 13. That's the strategy. The American people have made their position clear. Sixty-five percent say ICE has gone too far. Sixty percent disapprove of ICE's performance. Ninety-two percent of ICE's detention growth has been people with no criminal convictions. Fund TSA. Fund FEMA. Fund the Coast Guard. Defund ICE.
