Careful approach needed for IGO Anti-Boycott Act impacts

To: Rep. Strickland

From: A constituent in Tacoma, WA

May 4

The IGO Anti-Boycott Act could have serious implications for small businesses that oppose human rights violations and speak out against actions like the genocide in Gaza. Extending anti-boycott provisions to international organizations threatens to punish companies for taking ethical stances on important issues. Given the potential to infringe on free speech and human rights advocacy, I urge opposition to this legislation that could harm small businesses voicing legitimate concerns.
