Reject anti-middle class GOP budget gutting vital programs

To: Sen. Moran, Rep. Estes, Sen. Marshall

From: A constituent in Wichita, KS

May 10

The Republican budget proposal is a betrayal of the middle class and working families. It aims to provide massive tax giveaways to the wealthiest individuals and corporations, funded by draconian cuts to vital programs like Medicaid, SNAP food assistance, and other social safety nets that millions rely on. This misguided agenda favors the privileged few over the needs of ordinary Americans struggling with rising costs. Rather than doubling down on trickle-down economics that has failed time and again, we should be pursuing policies that uplift working families and level the playing field. The wealthy and corporations must pay their fair share to adequately fund public services, affordable healthcare, education opportunities, and other investments that create broadly shared prosperity. Prioritizing the interests of the middle class over billionaire donors is not only ethical but essential for a thriving economy that works for all. I urge you to reject this Republican budget that betrays our values and harms hardworking Americans. Instead, support a budget vision that puts working families first, ensures tax fairness, strengthens vital social programs, and builds an economy that empowers every community to succeed.
