Representing the 78 Percent: A Formal Demand for Your Resignation
To: Sen. Fetterman
From: A constituent in King of Prussia, PA
March 22
Formal Petition for the Resignation of Senator John Fetterman
To: Senator John Fetterman
From: The Voters of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
Senator Fetterman, I am writing to formally demand your immediate resignation from the United States Senate; in 2022, Pennsylvanians, specifically the Black community and the progressive base, sent you to Washington to be a bulwark against extremism, but instead, you have executed a political bait and switch that constitutes professional malpractice.
Your failure to fulfill your role is evidenced by the following betrayals:
* Enabling an Anti-Democratic Agenda: Your March 19, 2026, vote as the only Senate Democrat to support Markwayne Mullin for DHS is an unforgivable endorsement of an administration that threatens the civil liberties of your constituents; you have empowered the architects of mass deportation and aggressive surveillance.
* A Legacy of Broken Trust: I was present when you shook hands at street naming ceremonies and community meetings, and I saw your outreach for what it was, which was calculated pandering. You solicited Black voters only to move in lockstep with a movement that is fundamentally anti-Black, and your 2013 incident in Braddock was not an error, but rather a preview of this character.
* Total Loss of Mandate: With a 22 percent approval rating among Pennsylvania Democrats and a pattern of missed votes, you no longer possess a mandate; you have abandoned the blue collar progressive platform to become the opposition’s favorite Senator.
A senator who refuses to attend caucuses and mocks the humanitarian concerns of his party is a liability, not a representative; you used progressive energy to climb the ladder only to kick it away once you reached Washington. For the sake of the Commonwealth and the integrity of the Democratic platform, you must resign immediately; if you refuse, we will ensure you are primaried and replaced by a leader who actually intends to do the job they were elected to perform. Pennsylvania can no longer afford the Fetterman experiment.
