Support the Pharmacists Fight Back Act to prevent predatory practices by pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs) that squeeze out independent pharmacies from participating in federal health care programs. PBMs would be prohibited from restricting patients' choice of in-network pharmacies or engaging in "steering" tactics that direct beneficiaries to PBM-affiliated pharmacies. Independent pharmacies would be reimbursed fairly based on standardized pricing metrics rather than arbitrary rates set by the PBMs. This legislation safeguards patient access to local pharmacies and protects the viability of these vital small businesses in serving their communities.
