The Trump administration continuously shows us that it is unwilling to follow the laws and processes in place to maintain checks and balances. Our other branches are being ignored or disregarded in this administration's grasp for ultimate control. An unelected man is looking through the personal information of Americans with the clear approval of President Trump. Even as judges repeatedly attempt to block this, it continues. Vice President Vance is not innocent either, as he's said on podcasts and social media that the executive branch can ignore judicial rulings. This sets a dangerous precedent that all members of the government should be concerned about. The voice of the people and the powers of the other branches of government are being drowned out by the hunger for power these men have. I'm asking you to publicly address this and to call these actions as they are - unconstitutional and indefensible. We need our representatives to speak out against what is happening. We need to know you hear us and are concerned too. Silence in this moment continues feeding the idea that this is acceptable. If we aren't speaking out against it and taking action to stop it, the overreach will continue to a point it cannot be undone. This isn't a question of Republican vs Democrat. This isn't a question of if you support the Trump administration or its policies. This is a question of if we are going to allow our constitution to be trampled. If it happens now, even if you agree with their goals, what is stopping it from happening again with policies and actions you do disagree with? In theory, the constitution, but if we don't defend it now, there will be precedent that this is allowed. The American people are very concerned about this overreach. I hope that you will join us in refusing to stay silent as the foundation of the United States Government is undermined. This moment will be in history books no matter what we do, but we can control how the story ends. You have an opportunity, and a responsibility, to stand on the right side from the beginning and condemn this overreach. I hope you will take it.
