How law enforcement should behave

To: Rep. Moore, Sen. Johnson, Sen. Baldwin

Comments have been made about expectations that local law enforcement work with ICE, and blame deflected at them, such as CBP Commissioner Rodney Scott's comments regarding the shootings of Renee Good and Alex Pretti. Why on Earth should local and state law enforcement be expected to cooperate with any entity assaulting unarmed civilians?  It would be a travesty if our law enforcement did aid ICE, it's the complete opposite of what we pay them for. Everyone needs to be clear about how our society is supposed to operate, especially Congress, ICE, DHS, FBI, and other agencies. The US public has constitutionally protected rights to liberty and safety. We have every right to speak out, protest, resist, and refuse violent oppressors, regardless of whether they are paid for by our own government, or another.  It's essential we do so, in order to preserve our lives, country, and our Constitution. We do not live under martial law or military occupation.  We will not accept the unconstitutional, inappropriate, and legally precarious practices that ICE has been utilizing. Of course we resist armed thugs who swoop in and abuse or abscond with members of our community. They are invading our safe places: schools, sports events, and even our own homes.  We have a right to defend ourselves!   If you feel the term "thugs" is uncalled for, please see this: https://www.yahoo.com/news/articles/ice-faces-oversight-concerns-recent-171540507.html It's our state and local law enforcement's job to protect us from anyone attempting violent assaults, kidnapping, beatings, pepper spraying, or shooting of unarmed non-threatening members of the public.  It would be an egregious betrayal if they did assist ICE in abusing the public. ICE agents don't behave in a civilized, law abiding manner; they show no respect for laws, rights, nor compassion for the people. They arrive in force, by surprise, in a coordinated assault from multiple sides, armed with military style weapons, body armor, and masks. They do not provide warrants for particular individual(s), listing alleged offenses, and leave all other civilians alone; instead they cast a wide net, presume every civilian is a threat, and use extreme force to subdue all.  How dare you, or any agency, send armed forces to be sent against us, into our homes, schools, and lives, to terrorize our children, inflict violence without cause, and treat us, and our loved ones, as enemy combatants.  How dare you, or any agency, act shocked and appalled when rocks, vehicles, or aggression are unleashed toward them.  What did you think was going to happen? Of course there will be resistance, of course there will be violence.  ICE is making themselves indistinguishable from actual foreign invaders.  That someone will reciprocate the force, aggression, and violence that ICE inflicts, is to be expected, and frankly, it's deserved. The blame for any harm caused by our self-defense actions belongs with the decision makers: you, DHS, and ICE.   You took an oath to protect the Constitution, allowing attacks by ICE on civilians, and civil rights, are in violation of your oath! No funds for ICE or DHS, these agencies are a danger to the public!
