Thank you for voting yes to support HR 82! I am a retired Missouri teacher, and I know that HR 82 will help many of your constituents. Thank you for your support and your yes vote! I have also seen talk by Trump/Musk of privatizing the post office. In Ellsinore, years back, our post office hours were reduced, and the post office closes at 2:00, making it difficult for working people to make it there. I wouldn’t be surprised if we lost our post office in privatization. Trump and Musk have probably never used rural post offices and have no concept of the importance to the communities. I think I saw you come out in support of keeping the post office, and that the plan could hurt rural Missouri. I don’t know if privatizing would help or hurt. I feel like if it were treated just like a business, that many would be shut down or hours/days cut further. We need the post office. In rural America, not all bills can be paid online. We still receive them in the mailbox. Many elderly don’t use computers and need those bills sent through the mail. Please support our post offices.
