An Open Letter

To: Sen. Simmons-Gessesse, Rep. Cassidy, Gov. Pritzker

July 26

I can’t explain the fear I feel knowing that you are encouraging more nuclear energy being created. There is nothing for destructive or terrifying than a nuclear reactor leak or failure. There is no repairing that damage. Our government should never be in the position of causing so much harm to us, to the planet, to every single thing. You haven’t even tried to move us over to solar and wind energy; renewable energy sources that cause absolutely no destruction if something fails. There are no minor accidents with nuclear, there is just annihilation of everything. This is unforgivable and totally reckless and every single person that voted for this needs to get out of office. There is no excuse, nothing you can say about being so incredibly dangerous. We have an obligation to keep this planet safe, to protect all of life, especially beyond humanity. Allowing nuclear energy to exist, allowing these power plants to exist and wanting more is so irresponsible; it’s dangerous. We’ve known since WWII how dangerous nuclear is to absolutely everything. I can’t believe our government could be this stupid and shortsighted and reckless. I don’t ever want to hear that converting to wing and solar is too expensive; there is nothing as costly as a nuclear reactor failure. Shame on all of you involved in this.
