I am writing to urge you to immediately move forward with impeachment proceedings against Kristi Noem, the 8th Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security. Her tenure has been marked by gross incompetence, corruption, and actions that pose a direct threat to the safety and constitutional rights of everyone living in the United States.
Under Secretary Noem's leadership, ICE has conducted raids that have terrorized communities, separated families, and resulted in multiple deaths. DHS has targeted and detained verified US citizens, with some being deported without due process. This represents a fundamental violation of constitutional protections that should alarm every member of Congress regardless of party affiliation.
The human rights abuses occurring in ICE detention facilities are unconscionable. Detainees have faced sexual assault and medical negligence, and thousands of detained individuals have gone missing from the system entirely. These are not isolated incidents but systemic failures that demand accountability at the highest level.
Secretary Noem has also directed the use of US military forces against protestors exercising their First Amendment rights. Perhaps most disturbing, she celebrated the murder of Renee Good by an ICE agent as self defense, despite video evidence reportedly showing Good's innocence. This demonstrates a complete disregard for both human life and basic legal principles.
An official who lacks understanding of fundamental constitutional protections and who enables systematic human rights violations cannot be entrusted with leading an agency responsible for the safety and security of our nation. Secretary Noem has proven herself unqualified for this position through her actions and her embrace of violence against vulnerable populations.
I am asking you to support articles of impeachment against Secretary Kristi Noem. The abuses occurring under her watch demand immediate congressional action to protect the rights and lives of people in your district and across the country.
