The situation in Gaza is dire, with tens of thousands facing malnutrition and starvation due to the ongoing blockade and restrictions imposed by Israel. Despite warnings from the UN and humanitarian groups, the Biden administration has failed to enforce US laws prohibiting military aid to countries obstructing humanitarian relief efforts. This is unacceptable and undermines America's credibility on human rights. As a co-equal branch of government, Congress has a responsibility to act. I urge you to co-sponsor Senator Bernie Sander's 6 joint resolutions of disapproval to block the $20 billion arms transfers to Israel. Suspending the transfer of offensive weapons like missiles and fighter jets will send a clear message that the unconscionable violence and human suffering in Gaza cannot continue with US complicity. This is an historic opportunity to enforce our own laws, curb violence, and promote a just resolution. Co-sponsoring these resolutions is the moral course of action in line with American values. Inaction will only enable further humanitarian catastrophe and genocidal policies by Israel's far-right government at the cost of hardworking American taxpayers. I urge you to stand on the right side of history by co-sponsoring all 6 Joint resolutions of disaproval consisting of S.J res 111, 112, 113, 114, 115, 116.
