Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin's plan to "scrub" election records before and after the election is voter suppression, plain and simple. Using the full weight of a federal law enforcement agency to audit voter rolls — under the guise of removing "ineligible" voters — is a well-documented tactic for purging legitimate voters, disproportionately targeting communities of color, naturalized citizens, and people with common names. I want you to publicly oppose this and take concrete action to block it. Voter roll purges conducted close to elections are already restricted under the National Voter Registration Act for good reason: they produce errors that strip eligible citizens of their right to vote before they can correct the record. Handing that power to DHS, an agency with no legitimate role in election administration, makes it worse. This isn't about election integrity — it's about intimidation and interference. Stand up and say so.
