Vote YES for HR 1053 - No More ICE Assistance!
To: Rep. Jones
From: A constituent in Alpharetta, GA
February 13
I'm writing to you today to demand that you support H.B. 1053 to end mandated cooperation of local police with ICE in Georgia.
1053 repeals the existing harmful policy that's resulted in racial profiling, the terrorizing of immigrant communities, and is a waste of local resources. It is clear that ICE is acting without regard for the populous of the United States, thus I demand that you act to protect us, your constituents. It is clear that ICE and by extension the Federal Government are acting in blatant violation of so many of our civil rights and are claiming they have authority where none exists to violate and harm us in our homes. This is unacceptable Thus, we demand that these bills be passed to protect us as Georgians and to thus allow them to be protected from any potential brutality. Anything less is a betrayal of our trust, and shall be acted upon when midterms arrive.
