Vote against HB 3356, support renewable energy growth

To: Gov. Abbott, Rep. McQueeney, Sen. King, Lt. Gov. Patrick

From: A verified voter in Fort Worth, TX

April 23

Texas has benefited greatly from the growth of solar and wind power, which have provided affordable, reliable energy while driving billions of dollars in investments. However, House Bill 3356 would undermine this progress by requiring renewable sources like solar to generate consistent power levels, which is impractical given how these technologies operate. Preventing Texans from effectively utilizing alternative energy vendors and household solar would move the state backwards, increasing costs and vulnerability during extreme weather events. As your constituent, I urge you to vote against HB 3356 and any legislation that impairs our ability to leverage clean energy's economic and resilience advantages. A modern, diverse energy mix is critical for Texas' future prosperity and self-reliance.
