The incoming Trump administration has already started showing exactly how it will "govern" with its proposed Cabinet nominees. Each one is worse than the previous one, and to add to the attempts to destroy the balance of powers, trump is demanding that they be given recess appointments, thereby avoiding the advise and consent power that the Founders granted to the Senate. Please do not cede this important responsibility to an incoming administration that has shown in many ways, not the least of which is this slate of mostly unqualified and frequently compromised nominees, that it is not serious about governing rather than ruling. The Senate must take seriously the duties of fulll vetting these nominees, with background and security checks and full hearings. The incoming Trump administration must not receive a rubber stamp on whomever it chooses to install for their loyalty to their Leader rather than their suitability to serve the nation. Your consituents, Democrat and Republican, expect their Senator to uphold the constitutional mandate to be a fully functioning branch of the government, not to roll over and allow the executive branch to become a king, or worse, a dictator.
