Schumer’s proposal to reopen the government in exchange for another Republican “commitment” on ACA subsidies is surrender, not strategy. Republicans have already broken this same promise twice. Schumer has shown himself deeply embedded in the money and politics of Washington, and we’re done with it and with him. Please hold the line until there is a binding, written guarantee to extend ACA subsidies—not another handshake and press release.
