Support ceasefire, aid reconstruction in Gaza, impose arms embargo

The escalating violence in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict has resulted in immense suffering, particularly for innocent Palestinian civilians in Gaza. A permanent ceasefire is urgently needed to end the cycles of violence and establish lasting peace. However, beyond a ceasefire, we must take concrete steps to address the humanitarian crisis and rebuilding efforts in Gaza. The United States government should impose a full and immediate arms embargo on Israel to prevent the transfer of weapons that could further enable the disproportionate military actions against Palestinian civilians. This is a moral imperative given the devastating toll of the conflict. Moreover, the United States must actively support the reconstruction of Gaza, providing significant aid and resources to rebuild destroyed infrastructure, homes, schools, and hospitals. The people of Gaza have endured unimaginable hardships, and we have a responsibility to help them recover and rebuild their lives. Only through a firm commitment to a permanent ceasefire, an arms embargo, and robust humanitarian assistance can we hope to break the cycle of violence and pave the way for a just and lasting resolution to this protracted conflict. The United States government must act decisively and prioritize human rights over political considerations.
