As one of your constituents, I ask you to sign a Dear Colleague letter co-authored by Reps. Torres (D-CA) and Cammack (R-FL) urging leadership to bring S.725, the Enhancing First Response Act, to the House floor for immediate consideration during the lame-duck session of Congress. The Senate unanimously passed this bipartisan bill on September 10, 2025. 9-1-1 Public Safety Telecommunicators are the nation’s first responders. For too long, they have been misclassified as “administrative/clerical” under the Standard Occupational Classification System. S.725 corrects this by properly categorizing them as “public safety personnel." Time is of the essence to pass this bill before the adjournment of the 119th Congress.
