You need to investigate and defund "Operation Puppet Master" — DHS's covert surveillance program targeting Americans who protested ICE's deadly operations in Minneapolis. Court documents just revealed that undercover federal agents infiltrated over a dozen protest meetings, secretly recorded gatherings, sought financial records, and spied on groups like the Sunrise Movement. These are First Amendment-protected activities. This isn't a gray area. What makes this worse: the surveillance wasn't uncovering crime — it was manufacturing it. One undercover agent approached a Sunrise Movement organizer after confirming the group was committed to peaceful protest, then offered to help with "more direct action" and said "going to jail did not bother him." That's textbook entrapment. The groups targeted have not been charged with anything. ICE diverted Homeland Security Investigations agents — who are supposed to focus on transnational crime — to write down license plate numbers and spy on churchgoers. There's also a second program, "Operation Keyhole," referenced in the documents. DHS refused to explain what it is. Congress needs to demand answers now, cut off funding for these operations, and hold hearings on the full scope of domestic surveillance being conducted against Americans whose only offense is opposing this administration's policies.
