Unmask ICE “agents”

To: Rep. Van Duyne, Sen. Cruz, Sen. Cornyn

From: A constituent in Dallas, TX

July 13

I am writing to express my outrage at this Republican administration's allowing anonymous, alleged Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents to abduct people without showing any form of official identification. Witnessing masked, heavily-armed “agents” with no agency or personal identification abducting immigrants at court hearings and day laborers, based solely on their ethnicity, is profoundly disturbing. Every day there are more reports of criminals posing as ICE agents in order to rob and abduct people. Politicians have been shot by ICE impersonators. No other law enforcement agency allows its officers to remain anonymous. There must be accountability and transparency in all ICE operations. ICE and Homeland Security personnel, along with any deputized agents, must be required to show their faces and clearly identify themselves. It is imperative for Congress to establish oversight, order, and accountability for ICE personnel to distinguish them from cosplaying criminals. Please take decisive action to address these pressing issues.
