As a woman who has lived in California all of her adult life, I have mostly felt valued and protected by our State government. We are an ally of all women here. Including Trans women and all women of color. I am writing because we are under attack at the federal level. First with the repeal of Roe, and now with the current administration restricting access to birth control and so much more. We are not in this earth only to bear children. Our rights and reproductive healthcare are already disappearing. NOW: The Women’s Health Initiative (WHI) has been cancelled. This study enrolled tens of thousands of participants in clinical trials of hormones and other medications and tracked the health of many thousands more over more than 3 decades. Its findings have had a major influence on health care, particularly for women AFTER their childbearing years like me. This study has uncovered major advances in HRT for us. And now the NIH has cancelled the largest study on women’s health. Are you going to fight for us? Are you going to fight for us here in California. Are you going to protect our rights. All of us matter. Thank you
