Oppose Trump Judge Andrew Davis for the Federal Bench in Texas Today I take pen in hands to write and urge you to oppose the nomination of Andrew Davis to the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas. He’s another biased nominee with a shaky record of upholding the law, and in this regime could not relied upon to be impartial. Davis’ legal work has directly weakened voting rights for marginalized communities and undermined American democracy. If confirmed to a lifetime seat on the federal judiciary, many of Davis’s extremist and harmful ideologies may become permanently entrenched in his judicial decisions. Throughout his legal career, Davis has consistently sided with businesses and corporate wrongdoers over everyday people. In case after famous case, Davis has been on the wrong side of justice, like the Texas redistricting battle. Davis also has a clear record of minimizing corporate accountability and cutting off individuals’ ability to access justice. Instead of supporting and protecting voting rights, he led attacks against them. Instead of restoring confidence in the elections process, he helped advance lies that engineered more election denialism. Given this record, he will undoubtedly bring unjust and hurtful judgments. For these reasons and more besides, I urge you to expose him for the fraud he is and vote No on his nomination. Thank you.
