Vote no in HR 7661, Stop th Sexualization of Children Act

To: Sen. Rosen, Sen. Cortez Masto, Rep. Amodei

From: A constituent in Sparks, NV

May 28

Vote no on the stop the sexualization of children act This bill doesn't protect the children--it strips schools and libraries of federal funding if they include any content touching on gender identity or transgenderism, lumping those topics together with criminal definitions from federal child exploitation statutes. That's not child protection. That's viewpoint discrimination written into education law The bill's definition of 'permissable' classic literature is locked to a 1990 anthology and two obscure reading lists. Countless works of recognized literary and artistic value are simply excluded. Meanwhile, no enforcement agency is named, no compliance process is defined, and there's no cost estimate for what schools would spend reviewing and purging materials. LGBTQ students would see their existence erased from curricula, and schools face an impossible choice between comprehensive health education and keeping their federal funding. This bill creates real harm with no accountability built in. Vote NO.
