Co-Sponsor the MediKids Act; every child deserves a healthy start

To: Rep. Hamadeh, Sen. Gallego, Sen. Kelly

July 22

Co-sponsor the MediKids Act. Senator Kim's bill would automatically enroll every child born in the United States in health coverage at birth, with no application required and no cost to states. That's not a complicated ask — it's a straightforward fix to a problem that's getting worse fast. Child uninsured rates hit 6.1% nationally in 2024, the highest in nearly a decade. The One Big Beautiful Bill Act just made this worse by tightening Medicaid eligibility, and Kim's office is right that the numbers will climb further. We can't keep moving in this direction. The MediKids Act has backing from the American Academy of Pediatrics, the NAACP, and First Focus Campaign for Children. Families with private insurance can opt out. The federal government covers 100% of the cost. There is no reasonable objection to getting this done. Add your name to this bill.
