I ask that both of you press the R Caucus to sit down w the Dems and NEGOTIATE a settlement that will end this shutdown. Just saying "our way or the highway" isn't cutting it. You know - and WE know - that this has nothing to do w health care for immigrants. Non-citizens have NO access to Medicare/ MedicAid. What IS on the line is access for CITIZENS to this program. and there is no need for deficit spending, either. Roll back a trillion dollars worth of those outrageous tax cuts and this will balance. Revenue and spending are the two sides of any budget. You CANNOT voluntarily concede a trillion in revenue - and then scream that we are "spending too much." Nobody out here is believing that.
