Dear Senator, I urge you to vote NO on Tulsi Gabbard's nomination as Director of National Intelligence (DNI). This role requires an unwavering commitment to evidence-based decision-making, national security, and the independence of our intelligence community. Tulsi Gabbard’s record demonstrates that she is unfit for this critical position, and her confirmation would jeopardize the safety and integrity of our nation. Gabbard has a troubling history of amplifying Russian propaganda and siding with foreign adversaries in ways that undermine U.S. interests. She has publicly echoed false narratives from Russian state media, such as unsubstantiated claims about U.S.-funded Biolabs in Ukraine—claims used by Russia to justify its invasion. Additionally, Gabbard has met with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, a leader responsible for countless human rights atrocities, and refused to condemn him as an enemy of the United States. These actions raise serious questions about her judgment, priorities, and alignment with American values. National security experts and veterans have widely criticized Gabbard's behavior, describing her as a “dangerous” choice for the DNI position. The DNI oversees America’s intelligence apparatus and ensures the independence of critical agencies like the CIA and NSA. This position demands someone who can resist political or foreign influence, yet Gabbard’s track record shows a pattern of aligning with authoritarian leaders and undermining trust in U.S. institutions. Equally concerning is her willingness to shift her foreign policy positions to align with those in power. Gabbard has a pattern of prioritizing political expediency over the safety and security of the American people. This behavior risks turning the intelligence community into a political weapon rather than a safeguard for our democracy. The role of the DNI is far too important to be entrusted to someone with such a controversial and troubling history. Tulsi Gabbard’s nomination endangers the intelligence community’s ability to act independently, undermines U.S. credibility, and compromises the safety of Americans. I strongly urge you to oppose Tulsi Gabbard’s nomination as Director of National Intelligence.
