Trans rights are human rights

To: Rep. Estes, Sen. Moran, Sen. Marshall

From: A constituent in Wichita, KS

February 26

The current news out of Kansas is some of the most blatant voter disenfranchisement and abuse of trans people that we've seen. To, in the beginning of an election year, send all the known trans people in your state a letter telling them their license is suddenly voided if they've changed their gender marker (legally) has three major components worth looking at: 1) It's not a coincidence it's being done this year and week before a Kansas vote. This reeks of SAVE act style disenfranchisement and suppression. 2) It means the state is and has been collecting a list of trans people with enough accuracy to send letters to them. This is terrifying to anyone. Tracking is unacceptable. 3) Kansas is a rural state where the nearest DMV can sometimes be hours away and LEGALLY trans people would suddenly not be able to make that drive to comply with this, relying on their neighbors or family etc., This is abusive. This is voter suppression. This is unconstitutional. This is violating human rights.
