An Open Letter

To: Sen. Murkowski, Rep. Begich, Sen. Sullivan

From: A verified voter in Kenai, AK

January 29

I am writing to inform you of my extreme displeasure as to the slap-dash method the President is using to allegedly examine government spending. He needs to be held accountable for each and every change he attempts to make. You need to stop and think about the long term effects these actions he's churning out will have on Alaskans. The key term there is "long term." For example, how will cutting school lunch funding effect a hungry kid in Alaska? Maybe the day they don't get a free or reduced lunch is the day they have to take a standardized test on an empty stomach. Imagine how well they're going to do with that added obstacle? Now imagine hundreds of kids like this in Alaska. I'd invite you also to imagine what your response would be if President Biden had done what President Trump did today. Would you be so complacent? I doubt it. Please think critically and with the best interests of Alaskans in mind as we embark upon this term. Alaskans are watching.
