I am writing to urge you to vote NO on the confirmation of Todd Blanche for Attorney General. An Attorney General must protect the American people and defend equal justice under the law, not write special rules to put powerful people above it. As Acting Attorney General, Mr. Blanche recently signed an unprecedented deal that shields Donald Trump, his family, and their businesses from basic accountability. This is a massive abuse of power for three reasons: - It is a permanent blank check: The deal bars the IRS from continuing or starting audits into the Trump family's past tax returns. It gives a single wealthy family a permanent free pass from tax oversight that regular Americans could never dream of getting. - It leaves everyday taxpayers on the hook: By wiping away potential tax audits and financial scrutiny for one elite family, it forces everyday American taxpayers to carry the financial burden. - Federal judges are investigating it as fraud: A massive group of former federal judges recently filed a legal brief calling out this settlement scheme as an unprecedented threat to the court system. Federal courts are now actively investigating whether Mr. Blanche’s Department of Justice committed a fraud on the court to push this deal through. We need an Attorney General who believes the law applies to everyone equally. Please stand up for fiscal responsibility, fairness, and the rule of law. Vote NO on Todd Blanche.
