Vote NO on HR 1526

To: Sen. Murray, Sen. Cantwell

From: A constituent in Olympia, WA

April 16

I am writing to urge you to vote NO on H.R. 1526. This bill represents a serious and unconstitutional overreach that undermines the essential checks and balances of our government, specifically by stripping the judiciary of its authority and independence. The United States was founded on a framework that ensures no branch of government can wield unchecked power. By limiting or eliminating the judiciary’s role in reviewing certain administrative or legislative actions, H.R. 1526 threatens the separation of powers and weakens one of the core pillars of our democracy. Judicial review exists not only to interpret the law but also to safeguard the rights and liberties of the people. This bill sets a dangerous precedent. If passed, it would effectively place certain executive or legislative decisions beyond the reach of judicial scrutiny, removing an essential constitutional safeguard against overreach, injustice, or abuse. I urge you to stand up for the Constitution, for the rule of law, and for the fundamental principle of checks and balances. Please vote NO on H.R. 1526. Thank you for your time and your commitment to upholding the values of our democracy.
