Public transit is a vital service that connects people to jobs, education, healthcare, and recreation. Cutting nearly half of SEPTA's service, including eliminating 32 bus routes and drastically reducing Regional Rail schedules, would severely disrupt the lives of thousands who rely on this affordable transportation option. The proposed 9pm curfew on rail service would strand countless workers on second and third shifts, preventing them from getting home safely and reliably after their jobs end. Attending sporting events, concerts, and other nighttime activities would also become extremely difficult without late rail access. I urge you to prioritize securing additional funding to maintain full transit operations and avoid devastating cuts that would isolate vulnerable communities and hinder regional mobility and economic opportunity.
