Where is Congress in a Time of War? The White House is Under a Formal Lid.
To: Sen. Banks, Rep. Messmer, Sen. Young

I am appalled that Congress is NOT in Washington D.C. working.
We are in a war, pilots being shot down, one service member is in Iran with an unknown location and status, and a very unknown future.
We have an unhinged pentagon and commander in chief.
This administration has lost at LEAST KC-135 Stratotanker, killing six At least five F-15E Strike Eagles have been lost. MQ-9 Reaper Drones - over 10-12 Reaper strike drones have been lost. An A-10 Warthog was lost. Helicopters – multiple helicopters damaged and lost.
The president and Secretary of Defense Pet Hegseth made idiotic statements saying that Iran’s anti-aircraft defenses were taken out – that’s a lie.
We still do not have clear objectives nor an exit strategy except for the president saying ‘unconditional surrender.’
The death toll American service members is 13 (as of this moment) and hundreds more injured. Reporting states the 1,000s of Iranians, many who are civilians, including schoolchildren and teachers and families in a rec center.
The administration has chosen to continue to commit what are likely war crimes.
Secretary of Defense Pet Hegseth has fired just this week the Army Chief of Staff General Randy George, the chief of chaplains, Maj. Gen. William Green Jr., and the commander of Army Transformation and Training Command, General David Hodne.
Secretary of Defense Pet Hegseth has also declared ‘no quarter.’
How does that feel now that we have an MIA? I don’t think you understand the outrage of Americans. We do NOT want a war and we are vehemently against service members on the ground in a dangerous land.
The president has fired his AG Pam Bondi.
Thousands are still suffering a partial government shutdown and have NO paycheck, including TSA employees.
The global economy is in turmoil.
Meanwhile, you are cavorting around on vacation and/or spending time NOT working.
The optics of Congress members not working and the White House staying quiet during times of crisis and concern is not lost on any of us.
It’s disgusting and despicable and extremely concerning that Congress and the President and his administration are not doing or saying anything.
