Work towards ceasefire, arms embargo to end Gaza conflict

To: V.P. Harris

From: A constituent in Burbank, CA

August 21

The continued conflict in Gaza has resulted in immense suffering and loss of innocent lives on both sides. As a concerned citizen, I believe it is imperative for our next administration to take decisive action to end this cycle of violence. While I respect the complexities involved, I firmly believe an immediate ceasefire and arms embargo against all parties are necessary steps to de-escalate tensions and pave the way for a lasting peaceful solution. Hundreds of thousands of Democratic voters have made their stance clear by voting "uncommitted" in the primaries, reflecting widespread dissatisfaction with the current policies. The protests planned during the convention also underscore the growing demand for a course correction from influential sections of the party's base. I urge you to seriously consider this stance and support concrete measures like a ceasefire and arms embargo as part of your policy platform. Failing to address this issue risks alienating a significant portion of Democratic voters whose voices cannot be ignored. As an elected leader, it is your responsibility to pursue policies that prioritize human rights and work towards ending this devastating conflict through diplomatic means. I hope you will demonstrate the courage to take a firm stand aligned with these principles.
