I oppose H.R. 4 Trump’s Budget Recessions Package that takes money for public broadcasting and foreign aid that Congress has already apportioned/approved. Foreign aid and public broadcasting make up a tiny fraction of federal spending, but deliver outsized benefits to national security, education, public safety and democracy. It’s hard to spend a huge amount to bomb Iran and then say we have to put America first and can’t spend on foreign aid. Iran was not a direct threat to this country! As to PBS, I often watch public broadcasting and find it most informative. For millions, PBS and NPR are the only sources of free, educational programming, and local news—especially in rural areas like where I live. I know children who regularly watch the morning kids shows, the pennies you claim this will save is disingenuous. Vote NO.
