Keep consumer pricing fair for all

The use of dynamic pricing algorithms driven by artificial intelligence raises significant ethical concerns. Adjusting prices in real-time based on personal consumer data is a predatory practice that exploits individuals' purchasing power and exacerbates economic inequalities. This disturbing trend prioritizes corporate profits over the well-being of customers, particularly those from lower-income backgrounds. Such practices enable companies to charge higher prices to those perceived as having a higher willingness to pay, essentially penalizing them for their perceived affluence. This undermines principles of fairness and equal opportunity, creating a two-tiered pricing system that disadvantages certain segments of the population. Furthermore, the collection and analysis of sensitive personal data, including facial recognition and browsing histories, to build individualized consumer profiles raises alarming privacy concerns. Consumers should have the right to make purchasing decisions without having their personal information exploited for corporate gain. Instead of employing these unethical tactics, companies should focus on providing transparent and consistent pricing for all customers, regardless of their perceived economic status or personal characteristics. Corporate profiteering should not come at the expense of consumer trust and societal equity. Ethical business practices that prioritize the welfare of all customers are essential for maintaining a fair and just marketplace.
