Call for Attorney General Bondi's Removal for Disrespecting Survivors and Obstructing Justice
To: Sen. Hickenlooper, Rep. Crank, Sen. Bennet
From: A verified voter in Colorado Springs, CO
February 12
I am writing to demand immediate action regarding Attorney General Pam Bondi's conduct, which demonstrates she is unfit to serve as the nation's chief law enforcement officer. Her recent testimony before the House Judiciary Committee revealed not only unprofessional behavior but a shocking disregard for survivors of sexual abuse.
When Rep. Pramila Jayapal asked Bondi to apologize to Jeffrey Epstein survivors who were present at the hearing, Bondi refused. Instead of showing basic human decency to people who suffered horrific crimes, she attacked Jayapal, saying she would "get into the gutter for her theatrics." These survivors came to Congress seeking accountability and answers about whether Epstein's co-conspirators are being pursued. They deserved respect from the Attorney General. Instead, Bondi treated their presence as a political inconvenience and their trauma as theater.
This disrespect extended to members of Congress from both parties who asked legitimate questions about the DOJ's handling of the Epstein files. Bondi called Ranking Member Jamie Raskin a "washed-up, loser lawyer" and told him "You're not even a lawyer!" When Rep. Thomas Massie, a Republican, questioned document redactions, she attacked him as having "Trump derangement syndrome" and called him a "failed politician." She attacked Rep. Becca Balint's vote on an antisemitism resolution, prompting Balint to reference losing her grandfather in the Holocaust before leaving the hearing.
The Attorney General's primary duty is to pursue justice for crime victims and ensure accountability under the law. Bondi's refusal to answer questions about the Epstein investigation, her attacks on survivors seeking answers, and her childish name-calling show she cares more about protecting herself than serving the American people. Her behavior suggests obstruction of legitimate oversight into whether powerful criminals are being held accountable.
I urge you to call for Attorney General Bondi's immediate resignation or removal. Survivors of sexual abuse deserve an Attorney General who treats them with dignity, not contempt.
