The hits just keep on coming. We’re in a seemingly endless war in the Middle East because our president is incapable of actually making deals. Our faces of leadership are all culled from various whack-a-doodle hats, leading agencies that they wish dead. And are doing their best to murder. Our entire governmental apparatus seems focused on enriching the Trump family and their cronies. The DOJ is hellbent on revenge for imagined slights against our paranoid ever-increasingly incoherent president. A president who would rather be designing monuments to himself and gilding everything with reach than he is in any form of leadership or governance of a country he is quickly making as crazy as he is. So today we get to read about the FBI/DOJ going after the Southern Poverty Law Center. A predominant civil rights-protecting organization. Whose history includes breaking the back of the KKK. An organization that has worked with the FBI for decades and has provided our government with valuable information regarding white supremacist organizations and other domestic terrorist groups. An organization that is assiduous in its efforts to protect Americans’ civil rights. Which no doubt explains the current attack on them by our current government. Our federal law enforcement needs to get back to doing its job for we the people, not Donald Trump. His personal corruption, paranoia, and fragile ego are destroying the fabric of our government and society. But he can’t do all of this by himself. He is enabled by everyone who chooses personal interest over public service. At least we also get to read that The Onion is finally going to take over Alex Jones’ InfoWars. Maybe karma really does work.
