Pass meaningful campaign finance reform

To: Rep. Hamadeh, Sen. Kelly, Sen. Gallego

From: A verified voter in Phoenix, AZ

October 17

Pass meaningful campaign finance reform before one trillionaire's checkbook decides who runs the country. Federal filings show Elon Musk's America PAC has already spent $76.7 million this midterm cycle, with $35.8 million going to a field operation spanning all seven Senate battleground states. That is a presidential-scale get-out-the-vote machine, funded by a single individual, deployed in races I vote in. The numbers are staggering. Musk gave $158 million to the Senate Leadership Fund, nearly 60 percent of the $273 million raised for Texas PAC alone, a group backing one Senate candidate in one state. America PAC has now spent across 40 races in 17 states since July. No single person should have this kind of unilateral power over our elections. This is not participation in democracy. It is the purchase of it. The current system lets one person effectively run a shadow party operation while the rest of us show up with yard signs. I want laws that put real limits on super PAC contributions and close the loopholes that make this possible. Our elections should reflect the will of voters, not the wealth of one man.
