Fetterman's Deciding Vote Enables Trump's Unauthorized War on Iran

To: Sen. Fetterman

From: A verified voter in West Chester, PA

May 13

Your vote against the war powers resolution was the deciding factor — 49-50 — and you own that outcome. Three Republicans crossed party lines to uphold congressional authority. You crossed the other way. The 60-day deadline under the 1973 War Powers Act passed earlier this month, which legally required withdrawal of U.S. forces unless Congress authorized the conflict. Congress never did. This war is illegal, and your vote lets it continue. The justification doesn't hold up either. You argued the strikes were necessary to dismantle Iran's theocratic regime and stop its nuclear program. The regime is still in place under new leadership, and U.S. intelligence confirms Iran retains access to 30 of 33 missile sites along the Strait of Hormuz. Meanwhile, Pennsylvanians are paying 50% more for gas and watching inflation hit 3.8% in April because of this conflict. The war failed on its own terms, and your constituents are paying the price. Vote to end it.
