As your constituent, I am writing to urge you to endorse Xavier Becerra for Governor of California. Secretary Becerra’s extensive record of public service and high-level leadership uniquely qualifies him to lead our state into the future. As the former U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services, he managed a federal budget larger than California's and spearheaded the national recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. During his tenure as California’s Attorney General, he served as a tireless advocate for our values, filing 122 lawsuits against the Trump administration to protect our environment, reproductive rights, and the Affordable Care Act. Furthermore, his 24 years of experience in the U.S. House of Representatives—including his role as Chairman of the House Democratic Caucus—demonstrates that he has the deep legislative expertise and the established relationships necessary to navigate complex policy battles in Sacramento. California needs a governor with "proven courage and real results" to tackle the affordability crisis, expand healthcare access, and protect our fundamental rights. I hope you will join organizations like the CHIRLA Action Fund and the California Faculty Association in endorsing his campaign.
