I am writing to demand that you take immediate action to hold Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) accountable for its repeated abuses and failures. For years, ICE has operated with minimal oversight while engaging in practices that violate basic human rights: detaining people in unsafe conditions, separating families, and denying medical care, leading to preventable deaths in custody. Reports of abuse, neglect, and mistreatment continue to surface, yet meaningful accountability remains absent. If ICE is funded by taxpayers, it must be transparent, humane, and accountable to the people. Congress has a responsibility to investigate these abuses, demand full reporting on ICE detention conditions, and enforce consequences for violations of human rights and federal standards. I urge you to: • Support independent investigations into ICE detention facilities. • Demand transparency on detention practices and deaths in custody. • Oppose further funding increases for ICE until accountability measures are in place. • Advocate for community-based alternatives to detention that respect human dignity and due process. The ongoing harm caused by ICE is unacceptable. I expect you to uphold your duty to protect human rights and to ensure federal agencies are not above the law. ⸻ To your staffers: You are enabling these representatives in their horrid voting decisions and continued neglect of human rights. You see what they are doing every day, and you continue to help them do it.
