Dear Servant of God’s Children: I write to you as a citizen, taxpayer, and follower of Jesus Christ, urging you to exercise your moral authority to end our nation's senseless, destructive conflicts. We are presently entangled in conflicts that serve neither justice nor the common good, squandering the wealth and security of our people. Our futile trade war with Canada accomplishes nothing of lasting value. Slapping aggressive tariffs on our closest neighbor and trading partner does not penalize foreign rivals; it acts as an immediate sales tax on American working families struggling to buy basic goods. Furthermore, the resulting retaliatory tariffs directly shoot our own economy in the foot, destroying domestic manufacturing and agricultural jobs while shuttering local businesses. Equally catastrophic is the ongoing armed war with Iran and the maritime bottleneck in the Persian Gulf. This kinetic escalation has destabilized energy markets, inflated fuel costs, and ruined general economic prosperity across the globe. Rather than defending our nation, this prolonged conflict funnels hundreds of billions of public tax dollars directly into the pockets of the parasitic Military-Industrial Complex—private defense contractors and arms merchants who harvest record profits while working-class soldiers and vulnerable families pay the cost in blood and economic ruin. Jesus wept over Jerusalem’s blind rush toward imperial violence. He taught us to beat swords into plowshares, blessing the peacemakers and commissioning his followers to embody an abundant life where every neighbor can truly thrive. Every war we wage—whether fought with missiles in the Gulf or punitive tariffs across our northern border—destroys this Divine birthright, sacrificing human flourishing on the altar of corporate greed and state pride. End these pointless wars now. Divert our resources from tools of slaughter and economic spite toward the health, well-being, and peace of God's children.
