I am writing as your constituent to express my absolute disgust and outrage at your unconscionable vote in favor of the budget bill that slashes Medicaid, food assistance, and education funding. Your vote is a betrayal of the people of Ohio and a moral failure of staggering proportions. Your reckless cuts will cause immeasurable suffering to Ohio families: Medicaid Cuts - A Health Crisis: • You have sentenced millions of Americans to choose between death and bankruptcy • Children, elderly, and disabled individuals will lose access to life-saving healthcare • People with disabilities will be abandoned, forced out of their homes and into institutions • Blood is on your hands for every person who dies because they can't afford medical care Food Assistance Cuts - Creating Hunger: • Working families will go hungry while you protect tax cuts for the wealthy • Children will suffer from malnutrition, stunting their development permanently • Food pantries and soup kitchens will be overwhelmed as desperation spreads • Rural Ohio communities will be decimated Education Funding Cuts - Destroying Our Future: • You have robbed Ohio's children of their chance at a better life • Teachers will be laid off, class sizes will explode, and schools will crumble • Students will graduate unprepared for college and careers • Our state's competitiveness will plummet as we fail to educate our workforce I didn't vote for you, but you are supposed to represent ALL Ohioans - not just your wealthy donors. Instead, you have chosen cruelty over compassion, suffering over solutions. This vote is an act of violence against the most vulnerable people in our state. Your decision to gut these programs while protecting tax breaks for billionaires is morally bankrupt. You have shown that you care more about ideology than human lives. This is not governing - this is deliberate harm. I demand that you: 1 Immediately work to reverse these devastating cuts 2 Publicly apologize to every Ohio family you have harmed 3 Explain how you sleep at night knowing you've condemned children to hunger and families to medical bankruptcy 4 Resign if you cannot find the basic human decency to protect vulnerable people This vote will be remembered. The suffering you have caused will not be forgotten. The families torn apart by your cruelty will remember come election time. You have failed Ohio. You have failed basic human decency. History will judge you harshly for this moment of moral cowardice. I expect nothing from you but more disappointment, but I will continue to fight against the harm you have caused to our state and our people.
