I’m writing as your constituent to urge you to take immediate action regarding the United Arab Emirates’ (UAE) support for the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in Sudan. The RSF has committed egregious atrocities—including mass killings, starvation tactics, and sexual violence—against non-Arab ethnic groups in Darfur and beyond. These acts have been recognized by both the United Nations and the Biden administration as genocide 5 Calls. Despite this, the UAE continues to fund and arm the RSF, enabling their campaign of terror. In October, the fall of el-Fasher marked a devastating escalation, with countless civilians beaten and killed as they fled. Over 150,000 people have died since the conflict began in April 2023, and 12 million have been displaced, making this the world’s largest humanitarian crisis 5 Calls. The U.S. must not remain complicit through silence. I urge you to: • Support legislation that investigates and sanctions UAE entities funding the RSF. • Demand transparency and accountability from our allies regarding their role in foreign conflicts. • Push for robust humanitarian aid and protection for Sudanese civilians. Our foreign policy must reflect our values. Please speak out and act now to stop genocide and hold the UAE accountable.
